Executive College Students Recently Completed Their Three-month Industrial Training
11 May 2018, KUCHING: Executive College (EC) Bachelor of Technology (Hons) in Construction Management students recently completed their three-month industrial training.
A press release said they trained with various companies here as well as in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and Skudai, Johor.
The companies were Regal International Group, Timberland Group of Companies, Hung Hua Sdn Bhd, Sri Datai Construction (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, Polybuilding Construction Sdn Bhd, R&D Construction Sdn Bhd, CE Ukur Bahan Sdn Bhd, Delines Sdn Bhd, Musyati Sdn Bhd, TSK Construction Sdn Bhd, Ye Tung Construction Sdn Bhd, MJC City Development Sdn Bhd, CMS Pavement Sdn Bhd, Kelvin Galaxy Builder, and Yung Seng Construction Sdn Bhd.
Students learnt to coordinate all stages of a construction project including the human and physical resources for the successful realisation of the project, said the press release.
“Through my industrial training, I’ve improved my communication skills, time organisational skills, and gained valuable experience. I also met many people from other countries,” said Lewis Leong, who interned with MJC City Development Sdn Bhd.
Students were also exposed to projects through hands-on training to be better equipped with the know-how to cope with the needs of the industry.
“Rapid development of new housing areas, shopping malls, and the upcoming Pan Borneo Highway and LRT (light rail transit) projects have seen a high increase in demand for the workforce for construction graduates,” pointed out the statement.
The Bachelor of Technology (Hons) Construction Management offered at EC is a three-year degree programme awarded by Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL).
It is accredited and recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Malaysian Qualifications Agency.
EC has offered the Bachelor of Technology (Hons) Construction Management and Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in collaboration with IUKL since 2014.
Its April intake began on April 23 for all programmes including Foundation in Arts, Diploma in Quantity Surveying, and Diploma in Business Administration.
The last day to register for the April intake is tomorrow (May 6).
Given EC’s ties with KTS Group of Companies, its graduates who apply for jobs offered by KTS will have their applications prioritised.
EC is holding counselling sessions from 9am to 4pm daily until tomorrow.
